You always do great work man. one comment
I am sick of hearing about tiger woods. what is more important? a billionaire athlete who does the nasty with other chicks other than his wife? Or an 8 year war where we just shipped 30,000 more people off. Priorities people. Priorities
“What the hell were you thinking , he was watching “LAW AND ORDER”? LMAO ..I die 1,000 times ..omg
Yes it feelS so good to see AI BACK …BLACK POWER
76ers need a star and excitement to keep the fans interested.
Great podcast SAS. Do you think Iverson can help the 76ers get the 8th spot in the East?
Great Post Mr Smith. I agree AI would have to be as you would say a New Fool if he blow this opportunity with the sixers, I grew up in the DC area watching AI since the Georgetown days so imma always root for him to succeed, it just hurts when he sometimes get in his own way an make it harder on himself, I pray he makes this work bring excitement to philly again along with wins. Tiger i don’t condone what he did he was wrong no doubt, You make a vow you honor period. But after so many have fallen Kobe, MJ, Shaq,Pitino an Steve Mcnair you would think other big time athletes an celebrities would be smarter than that, but as you said they face temptation that is out of this world, My feelings on tiger is the same that he is a all world golfer still a gr8 person but he just proved that no matter your status in life we are all still unperfect human beings. He will recover just like Kobe an others recovered an people will love him again, WELL some anyway.
First, congratulations on your Fox position. I am an artist; don’t know ANYTHING about sports but I AM A NEW FAN OF YOURS! Wrote to you once before re: Mark Levin Show and once re: Rush; just spotted this blog post on Facebook. You are a highlight, a contributor and damn enjoyable. Have a wonderful Season whatever you do and Happy Everyday to you. Regards, Caroline Krieger Comings
I THINK U R RIGHT ABOUT A.I AND T. WOOD. I THINK THIS IS WHERE A.I. NEED TO BE AND SHOULD BE. I ME IT IS A WIN-WIN FOR HIM AND FOR THE CITY OF PHIL. FOR TIGER, WELL LET ME SAY THIS, I AM 31YR, I HAVE CHEATED ON EVERY WOMEN I HAVE EVEN DATE UNTIL MY WIFE. HOW? I STOP GOING TO CERTAIN PLACE, WHERE I KNOW A LOT OF WOMEN MY BE. I KEEP MY 8YR SON WITH ME AS MUCH AS I CAN. WE AS MEN CAN SAY NO ALOT, BUT WE ALL HAVE A NUMBER, AND AS LONG AS THEIR DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM WE ARE OK, BUT TIGER HAS WOMEN COMING AFTER HIM OVER,OVER,AND OVER AGAIN. THAT IS SOMETHING I DON’T THINK ANYMEN CAN HOLD UP TOO. I DON’T KNOW ANY MEN (BESIDE JESUS CHRIST) THAT CAN TURN DOWN THE MOST POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL,AND SEXIES THING ON THIS EARTH WOMEN… IF WE WERE IN TIGER SHOES, WE WOULD HAVE FAILED THAT TEST TOO….MR SMITH THANK U FOR EVERY THING THAT U DO AND I WISH U NOTHING BUT THE BEST.. MUCH LOVE RICK D MOBLEY, GREENSBORO, NC. GO PRIDE

Sincerly KRUZE
@Chyna:
That was hilarious.
Great podcast Stephen A.
Congrats on FoxSports. Great podcast, SAS why the hate on bigdog Glen Robinson…
I don’t want to be a pessimist of A.I., but I’ve lost respect for Allen Iverson as a professional athlete because of his cavalierness, lack of commitment to teamwork & winning. He was malignant while in Denver, Detroit, and Memphis, so how will he sully the remainder of this season & his legacy???
It’s real simple: He needs to go to practice, score big, win games, and get paid.
I really really hope that he succeeds now that he’s back home.
I completely understand why the 76ers are offering a 1 year non-guaranteed contract to Allen Iverson. The 76ers franchise is in full blown desperation mode. The 76ers team record as of 12/03/09 is 5W – 14L, 8 game losing streak, 29th in league attendance, so signing A.I. isn’t a bad gamble. I think it’s a prudent move the 76ers are making. This is how the 76ers will stimulate ticket sales and other profits. I can’t blame the 76ers for getting back into the Allen Iverson business.
i think AI is going to have a a wonderful season he will be averaging in the 20’s for points per game
Hi Mr. Stephen:
Just wanted to say congratulations. I don’t know if you remember me emailing you before, but your words were so kind and you left a lasting impression on me. I have truly enjoyed watching you on the different networks, and I look forward to hearing you on the radio. Please keep influencing teens like myself. One final thing: GREAT PODCAST!!!

Disgusting
As always Stephen A,excellent work!
Just 2 little things to say :
1. I don’t see what the big deal is about Tiger he is a human being just like you and I.His blood is the same color as you and I. He made a mistake just like you or I would do.Leave the man alone.
2. Allen will bring so much back to Philly it’s not even funny before he left the sixer’s you couldn’t even get tickets to a decent game, after he left philly couldn’t eve give them away for free.Welcome back Allen
###
From SAS: I don’t know what you’re talking about because I certainly am not bothering Tiger Woods.
I commend you for your great work.
THANK YOU STEPHEN A. SMITH
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
On your new FOX Sports Radio Show!!!
I’ll become a new subscriber to SIRIUS XM Radio just to support you, and what you stand for. Best wishes to you on your current achievement and many more to come in the future.
###
From SAS: Thank you very much, Chris. Really appreciate the support.
You are the man. Well done Mr. Smith. I am sooooooooo glad to have A.I. back in Philly. Lets Go Sixers. Whew hew!!!! As far as your Tiger Woods comments sounds just about right to me. I aint even mad at ya lol. Congrats on the gig with foxsports you know I will be tuned in. You ALWAYS keep it real. I love it. Have a good one Mr. Smith.
Christine Cooper
###
From SAS: Thanks Christine. Really appreciate it.
Allen Iverson was so emotional in his press conference today, and I think that 76ers need him as much as he needs to redeem himself as a superstar in this league. I don’t like it when people talks about player’s development, organizations should be built to win while developing young players either on the side line, or integrating young players without hurting the team chances of winning.
Allen Iverson deserves a second chance. I’m sorry, 76ers are very lucky to have him back; it is more like Allen Iverson is giving the 76ers a second chance. I wish him luck.
Tiger Woods made a tremendous mistake, and he got caught doing. I don’t think he owes anybody an apology, but his wife. The story that he told is very suspicious. The bottom line is that, he is still the most gifted athlete in the world, he hurt his personal life, but his brand is still intact.
Man stephen A. you the best man i swear why u leave espn man lol but man u keeps it real about my favorite played allen iverson man u keeps it real well man keep doin ya thang and i can be a philly fan all over agin my boy A.I will prove all the haters WRONG!!!
Great Podcast! To quote Chris Rock ‘Tiger went Tiger’. You’re right if you are married and plan and staying married why are you in a nightclub in Vegas? Too many temptations, you are putting yourself in a vulnerable situation. Forgive the joke but, The black in Tiger bought the Cadillac the asian in him crashed it.
@Drew: Great point! I definitely agree. But it’s a sports blog site my man.
Great cast SAS! I agree with you but, can an old dog learn new tricks? Especially a player who is been pretty good at one thing (Scoring). Side note, much love and congrats on the Fox spot and I love all your commentary, both sports and politics. Keep doing your thing bro!
Stephen A.
Love to hear you are coming back to radio, can’t wait! Tiger Woo, why did he ever get married? He should have been budding up with Derek Jeter, and then he might learn something. As for the Real A.I.; I hoping & pulling for him. As you said, it is time put some energy back into that team. There is nobody on that team who can go 1 on 1, sad.
why do you wish bad luck for glen Robinson
###
From SAS: The only player in all my years of covering the NBA i genuinely DO NOT LIKE. The man got Randy Ayers fired. Didn’t give a damn.
good to hear from you stephena. I am still trying to get over the fact the spurs passed on Ai which is utterly ridiculous. The fact that their are NBA GM’s that think like skip bayless is means alot of franchises will be experiencing turmoil real soon if they are not already. As for tiger woods I think its to early to say anything, I’m waiting for the facts to come out. Although I think you rational is very sensible.
This has nothing to do with your topics, but your assessment would be appreciated. There is an impending disaster in college football’s BCS. I do not believe in a playoff, but an objective bowl selection process. With all this said. Do you think TCU diserves a shot at the national title seeing how there season is currently over.
###
From SAS: Can’t answer that any other way, my man, other than to say I wish there was a playoff system so I could actually gauge whether TCU is REALLY DESERVING of a shot at the National Title. I haven’t seen them play.
Stephen A,
Man you hit it exactly with this post. More importantly am I am so glad to hear about the Fox deal. Your talent speaks for itself and ordinary brothers like myself are inspired to fight on when you score. Keep fighting!
DJ
Classic Stephen A. Great podcast. I agree, A.I is the answer to Philly’s woes. I pray for his success. Tiger, I dunno about. He kind of shot himself in the foot on this one. Nice work Stephen A.
@Ish Khepri: Oh absolutely I understand that. I was interested in getting Stephen A.’s take on the situation anyway, but I was talking about a lot of the national media. CNN, Fox News, NBC. I just feel that stuff like this happens all the time.
StephenA, I’m pissed at Tiger because he sold out Mike, with that BS comment about coming forward with the truth.
My….. how the shoe fits.
Go Philly, they hung tough with both my boys, AI and MV(P).
Look forward to hearing you on FOX Bro.
HI STEPHEN, I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOUR COMMENTS AS FAR AS TIGER IS CONCERNED IF HE HAD BEEN MARRIED TO A BLACK WOMAN NO ONE WOULD BE UP IN ARMS AS THEY ARE NOW. I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT LOVE HAS NO COLOR AS TERRY COLLIER ONCE SANG IN A HIT SONG OF HIS HIT SONGS IN A ALBUM HE PUT OUT IN THE 60’s called “what color is Love”. ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT LOVE HAS NO COLOR, BUT CERTAINLY THE MEDIA WOULD NOT BE GOING CRAZY AT HIM ..TIGER IF IT WAS A BLACK WOMAN HE HAD MARRIED ELIN IS ONE OF THEIT OWN AND THIS IS WHY TO ME THE MEDIA IS UP IN ARMS, MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE SAT DOWN AND HAD A HEART TO HEART TALK WITH JIM BROWN OR MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE HAD WILT AROUND TO TEACH HIM A FEW THINGS
The only reason the press is going after Tiger is because he’s a black man. This is just another case of the racist white press. Same thing with AI, who is a basketball God. But people attack him because they don’t like the way he looks. Keep up the good work Stephen A, we need you. Don’t ever back down to the work of the devil.
Stephen A thanks for the podcast.on Ai and tiger.I wish AI all the best i pray for him to show up all those hating ass ignorant jealous people talking about AI like he was the worst thing to happen to the NBA. No he aint perfect name one player who is.but i hate people blaming him for denver not winning. chauncey billups was a better fit because he is a true piont guard just like jason kidd and john stockton.Iverson is a Great scorer thats his strength.but he can pass the ball he is not a ball hog he has more assist than kobe bryant.and detriot is and was a joke sorry ass Hamilton was complaining about starting where was he after Iverson left he seemed to be a no show detriot aint do a damn thing when iverson left it wasnt on him.hes one man its 12 on a team last i rememeber .
You remind me of me!
Congrats on the new job…

stephen a – keep up the great work. love hearing your podcasts.
when do you start back on the radio? what link can we get you on..be sure to post either here or on your f/b or twitter
Let me state this loud and clear. I am no TIGER WOODS fan but lets clear the air about some things. How is it possible that the media was able to open pandoras box about cheating from a simple car accident? Something doesnt smell right about this whole situation, as if TMZ or the media are illegally tapping into peoples cellphones and emails. I dont think anyone thought the reason he got into an accident when it was first reported was because he was cheating on his wife. Things are not adding up right now and everyone seems to be bypassing this question.
Next how can he lose any more endorsement than david letterman or bill o’reilly or be scrutinized any worst than them, which seems to be the case.
SAY IT HOW IT IS AND HOW WE SEE IT? . . . . . i like that
Stephen A. is the truth. I think I wanna be a journalist just to be like him…
I can sum it up. Tiger is a great golfer. Tiger is a terrible husband.
SAS,
off topic but what is Bryon Russell thinking calling out mj and talking all this smack? The guy tortured him 2 years in a row en route to a championship. What does it even matter what a 46 year old mj can do?
On topic, I agree with you that when you have tigers stature you don’t NEED to chase women they will just come after you. However from what’s coming out it’s not like tiger just sat there and waited for it to come, he went after it himself and from what it seems had NO RESISTANCE.
Stay up I’m happy to see you’re back on top of the journalism world. Espn really lost thei nucleus in NBA coverage and it’s not the same anymore
ps better NBA career: kwame brown or Slava medvadenko?
###
From SAS: Ari, do you REALLY think Tiger’s only had a dozen women chase after him? Get a grip. He might have that many chasing after him in one night. As for Kwame or Slava, it’s a toss-up, given to Slava actually. At least he helped the Lakers win something back in the day.
My Man Steven, first let me say once again you have outdone yourself with your analysis of the sports world. But truly I am sick of hearing about Tiger and his woes. I think you are dead on in your speculations. But truthfully, Tiger off the golf course is just NOT that interesting. (shoulder shrug)
Secondly, I am happy that A.I. has gotten another chance. I currently live in his hometown, Hampton VA for others who don’t know. And he received mixed results in terms of the media around here. But fans wise this was a good week. Seeing him get picked up and then watching Mike Vick play well against his old team.
Lastly, I want to congratulate you on your new gig. However, I was surprised to hear you say FoxSports. I guess whenever I think of FoxRadio or FoxNews I can’t help but get sick to my stomach due to their history of far right views and racist reporting. However, I entrust that you have reviewed teh situation thoroughly before you signed on and I look forward to giving your show a listen.
I’ll Holla!
###
From SAS: I always do, TAdeyemi. But there’s two things you need to know: Fox Sports has no affiliation with the network, itself. They are owned by Premiere Radio, a sister company of ClearChannel and the same folks who own the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Secondly, though, I’d be more than happy to work for FoxNews. Although I admittedly don’t like their slant sometimes, I like the courage they display in expressing their views unapologetically. Plus, I still have a passion to do news/politics. If CNN or MSNBC doesn’t call, that’s their issue. I won’t hesitate to go to Fox if they call. I plan on doing my thing wherever I end up.
Whats up Mr Smith just wanted to say I am a big fan and i miss you on espn both the radio and tv show. Like the opn abt AI and i agree! What every ones forgets about AI is that he is all about being told he can not do something! Being told he is to small to play for G-Town, being told he would never win in the NBA and he took the worst team ever to the chips! and one a game when no one thought they would win a game. And now every one thinking he is finshed trust he will leave it all out on the court and he will show that when you say he can’t AI shows he can!
Stephen A.,
I am glad you are back! I can’t wait to hear you on Fox Sports Radio.
I am disappointed. I know you aren’t afraid to call people out. That is what you do, so why not call Tiger out. Say Tiger is wrong! All you did was give reasons why you think he did it but you never said that he was wrong. Because he’s young, a billionaire, a$$ is constantly in his face, and its free, we are not supposed to be surprised. What’s wrong with expecting a married man to be faithful. I know you cover sports and sports journalist (in my opinion) don’t spend a lot of time on these type of issues. To me sports journalist tend to stick with the sport and how an athlete performs on the field but this is not ESPN. This is your website, say he is wrong for cheating on his wife. Would it be breaking man-code by saying that Tiger should not have cheated?
On a lighter note, I loved you on MoNique! You looked great as always. Pretty Ricky was a mess. I enjoyed them too.
###
From SAS: Clarice, with all due respect I am not you, sweety. I don’t feel the way you feel. Ofcourse Tiger was wrong, and I said that. But I’m neither shocked nor disappointed because it doesn’t take Einstein to predict this would happen. You think his wife didn’t know women would throw themselves at her man, or that he would take them up on some offers? She knew! She just took a calculated risk because it was worth $$$ to her. A former Nanny and model, now scheduled to walk away with anywhere from $50-mil to $300-mil. Poor baby!
Again, Tiger was wrong. But I’m sick of the other side of the story not being told. The side and illuminates how these women know exactly what they’re doing and simply don’t give a damn so long as they get paid. Whether that was Tiger’s wife or not remains to be seen, but for a lot of women that’s exactly what it is. And if that’s the case, then it’s not a marriage. It’s an arrangement. This is the business end of it. Live with it.
I have to disagree with you on Tiger.
I’m glad AI is back, he’s a good guy.
Look forward to listening to your show!!
m.
Mr. Stephen A. Smith,
I’ve got a question I’ve always wanted to ask you; the barbershop question. Who would you truly say is a better basketball player Kobe or Lebron? Personally, I think Kobe has a killa instinct, he can turn the lights on and turn them off when he wants, he’s becoming a better team player, and he could shoot better than Lebron, and im not going to mention the championship rings. Now don’t get me wrong, I know Lebron is a great player, he’s achieved alot at a young age, I love to watch him play, but to be better than Kobe he needs to work on his jump shot, hold better one on one defense, and Mike Brown should stop Lebron from playing 1 on 5.
Thanks for your news and sports insights.
###
From SAS: Kobe. But LeBron’s coming.
You are on it about Tiger when I was young my Mom showed me one scripture I live with Prov. 27,20 “Two things that never get filled, the grave yard and a man’s eyes.”
I think I heard you on Sean Haniity today, and on your point about Tiger Woods not ‘dating’ black women, and balck women not appreciating this, I agree.
THing is, I am white as snow. Regardless, it just makes sense, in my limited understanding of human nature and emotion.
Too bad Hanity and S.E. Cupp couldn’t catch this point.
Bob >W
###
From SAS: Thanks, Bob.
Good podcast as always, Stephen A. As a sixers fan, I totally agree that the franchise has nothing to lose by signing Iverson. Especially at the cheap and affordable cost we’re getting him for. Especially seeing the fact that although we have good talent on this roster, it’s clearly void of a leader and a guy that can take over a ball game and close games out. Especially the close ones, which the sixers have lost many in embarrassing fashion this season and other recent seasons.
Great commentary on the (messy) Tiger Woods situation also. Everything you said was right on the money. Good luck with your new job at Fox News Sports Radio. And whenever you get time to post more podcasts in the future, just holla. Take it easy.
Thank you, Thank you. I absolutely agreed with you on Hannity. As am AA Black female, I’m not your typical Hannity listener. I agree with him on many things, not all. Now you on the other hand, was dead on and I appreciate the fact that you are not afraid to talk to about race and make no apologies for it. Do you think that all the women are real conquest of Tiger or just seizing an opportunity for publicity?
###
From SAS: Seizing an opportunity, my dear.
In 1786 a person that was 1/8th black was automatically black and therefore a slave which is racism, especially Thomas Jefferson’s kids. Later a 1/4th person was automatically black and a slave. So why is a person whose highest race percentage is from the Orient and who might be 40% black a black person? This seems like more racism to me.
Stephen A, I listened to the show today, very nice. I am so glad to have you back on radio. Your voice was the only thing keeping me sane at a drap position I had…I am not there anymore YEAH! my time ened around the same time yours did with ESPN and now I work for myself…Love It, and love having you as apart of my days again.
I agree the women will be lined up if Tiger divorces, hell they were lined up an he is married. As an black female rasied by males, let me say you don’t have to condone what he did, the females condone it themselves. They are who we should be talking about. Tiger is just a man, a man who had disciplines in other areas, and lived shelterd childhood. Money plays a big part, so much so maybe he should change his name to JOHN, and what would this make the women? Its just a sad situation. Keep speaking the truth, keep smiling. Glad to be a fan. Holla Lorris
Your points on Tiger are spot on. There are so many wives of celebrities and athletes that absolutely know that their husbands are sleeping around. But of course if this leaks out, the wife always has to try and save her face.
one question: will the cavs move ilgauskas and his 10mil+ contract before the trade deadline and for whom?
i think it’s senseless to hang onto him, because it seems like lebron is bolting out of the door if they don’t make the team better during the course of the season. and also shaq and Z just can’t co-exist on the court. offensively they are OK together, but defensively.. they’re so so so slow. hickson has been playing well, but he’s no better than say josh powell is. and he is lucky to get 5 minutes in a game.
i think they should go after a PF who’s quick, solid defensively but can also extend the opposition’s defense (jamison, odom, g wallace (not that any of those teams are willing to make that trade)). but is there a team out there who want that cap space for next summer?
Stephen- Best comments I’ve ever heard about an athlete were yours about Tiger on Larry King. Unbelievable. Way to go.
Stephen,
I watched you on 360 last eve. What has Tiger Wood ever done to you? Granted he has shown that he is human and capable of sinning just like everyone else. But do you have to enjoy his fall from grace.
The tone and overall glee in his shortcomings seem to pleasure you in some way. Look here, this is a matter that should be handle between Tiger and his family. Leave this guy alone.
Have any of you considered that Tiger is in pain from the lost of his best friend and father in 2006. It appears to me that this is when he started all of this acting out. Some people mask the pain of a lost and it can manifest in negative ways. I know from experience that this can happen and I’m well in my forties.
Please stop all this madness of enjoying Tiger’s downfall. I’m sure he feel badly enough.
You are a Jerk.
###
From SAS: Thank you for the email. Much appreciated.
Dear Mr. Stephen A Smith:
I watched your comments on CNN about Tiger Woods and I thought you were over the top.
I usually like what you say but this time you really got under my skin. Saying stuff like hypocrisy and how he lives a double life. First , your opinion is one black man’s opinion. But when you are on a TV station speaking to millions of people it really matters what you say! Especially when you are Black. If we can’t stick together when things get down on one another, then we are in bad shape. You are in the media and you probably can speak with Tiger Woods and you would have the best time to say what or how you feel about him to his face. But to get on TV and speak your mind about him to white America, we need to peel back your skin to see if you are Stephen A Smith instead of Jim Rhome, Rush Limbaugh or any other white TV or radio personality. It’s really sickening.
I heard you talking nonsense about President Obama. Everybody have their views and disagreements about issues but you can speak to President Obama or Tiger Woods to tell them what you think is a better solution. You don’t have go out bashing brothers because you can. We get enough of that from your white counterparts. Tiger Woods is a billion dollar athlete and he can lose all his sponsors, wife and he would be alright. I support him for whatever. You sit up there like you don’t have skeletons in your closet. You are a hypocrite too. A recent survey suggests that 90 percent of men have cheated on their wife or girlfriend once and 80 percent of women. It’s a sad world but we need brothers in the limelight to swing up for each other.
###
From SAS: You’re right, it is one man’s opinion: Mine! I was asked to give it and that’s exactly what I did. I don’t ask to go on these shows; they ask me. It is what it is. Just like I have an opinion, evidently you have one too. That’s why you’ve emailed me. So get over it and just deal with it.
Why are you wasting you time spitting on Tiger. Do something worthwhile.
###
From SAS: I’m always doing something worthwhile. You just emailed me, didn’t you?
Stephen A,
You just preached the gospel on this one! Much love, keep doing what your doing family. Congrats on the new show, its about time. I look forward to listening to you. God Bless.
YL
###
From SAS: Thanks so much, bro. Much appreciated.
SAS, I respect your craft man, but I hate the way that you come across as though you “know it all”. I realize that it is your job to give your opinion on various issues, but yours is only ONE of countless many. Just because you have a platform it does not mean that yours is the right one!
###
From SAS: Spare me on the know-it-all nonsense, Bennie. When someone ask YOU a question about your thoughts on something, do YOU come across as if you don’t know? Hell No! You give your point of view. Why? Because that’s how you feel and you’ll express it, that’s why. That’s what I’m doing. It’s what I get paid to do. And I’m not about to stop. So if you’re going to take time to email me in the future, spend it constructively and make your point. Don’t tell me how to speak. I get PAID to do this. It’s my job and I believe I do it quite, damn well.
Live with it.
Stephen, here’s my questions, when did you become a Preacher? Did you pay for Tiger’s commercials? and why is it whenever you try to explain things you have to rant and rave like a wild man? Get a life! Remember Bill Clinton? All the representatives who wanted to impeach him, now they are in the same boat. I know you work in television, but beware, you may be next.
###
From SAS: Why don’t you stop being so pathetic and predictable, talking about rants I don’t even make. I have not been yelling or screaming. I’ve been talking, expressing my points eloquently. Instead of trying to find fault with something because you don’t like me, why don’t you have the guts to attack exactly what I’m saying? Grow the hell up. I say enough. Be a man and address my points on its substance instead of just hating to be hating.
Stephen, I know you are too young to have followed Nancy Lopez and Tom Watson, but they too had problems outside of their marriages, but we never saw anything like the way to chastise Tiger, and they went on to become heroes in their “White” world. Whenever you go back to talk about Athelete problems, you always mention “Kobey or Michael and the Black stars, but you don’t mention the likes of Watson or Lopez. Why is that?
###
From SAS: Because of what you just said, Anne. I was too young. Didn’t know about those folks.
Good job on Larry King and CNN this week. It was refreshing to see someone stand up and call Tiger on his life being a charade. Great golfer, but now just a golfer. Family man he was not – and you told that so clearly. Few have had the guts to say what you said. Where are the rest? Morals gave in to protecting a superstar from truth. You get the highest marks for telling it straight. Way to go!
###
From SAS: Thanks, Doogie. Much appreciated.
Yo Steve “I kiss everyone’s ‘A’ss” Smith.
I came here because another brother was calling you out for taking cheap shots. Are you that desperate for attention, ratings, whatever the freak you wanna call it.
It’s clear you got nothing to offer society as live your life vicariously over other brothers. Look at your damn gallery. Only got black superstars on it. You’re probably just jealous. Get off the air. You are worth nothing but a media whore. Its clear that MJ, Kobe, Barkley and 80% of other NBA players have been in the same position. Damn, Kobe was in a rape case and you still kiss his ass.
Lets call a spade a spade. You suck.
###
From SAS: Along with your other ignorant-ass points, I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say. I certainly wasn’t getting on Tiger for being with other women. That’s his damn business. My problem with him is that he didn’t tell the world to mind their damn business. It’s his marriage. What the hell is he telling anyone anything for? He should’ve said I had a personal issue with my wife, it’s my fault and my business and I’m handling it, doing everything I can to work it out. The rest is none of ya’ll damn business. Period. Instead, he kept making up these bogus stories. That’s the issue.
I guess you were right the boy Ingram won the Heisman becoming the first Alabama Player to do so. By the way when are we going to see your predictions on the BCS and National Championship.
###
From SAS: Alabama over Texas: 31-27
Steve,
I like you man your great but here is the deal , I worked for Greg Norman for 10 years and know Tiger well now that said stop dooging my boy your way out of line here.
Those girls just like elin know he is rich and dude they were on him all the time I mean no rest and chasing him .
They are gold diggers and we dont even know which one did and which one lied please bro think about that before you go slamming him .

From SAS: Julius, ya’ll got to stop watching me and start LISTENING. I’m not dogging Tiger for sleeping around with women. He’s a 33-year-old billionaire. I fully expected that. What I was getting on him about what trying to lie to folks instead of telling them to mind their damn business. It’s HIS MARRIAGE. Nobody has a right to be all in his business. Stop making up damn stories for image purposes. He’s already got a billion — so what the hell is he doing that for. That’s what I’ve been on him about. Nothing else.
Saw you on Hannity tonight and just want to congratulate you for the courage to speak the truth. Hannity is brain dead and living in outer space if he doesn’t see your point about successful African-American men spurning African-American women in favor of white women. Beautiful, successful AA women would love to engage with a black man who is their intellectual and socioeconomic equal, but it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. Michele Obama lucked out because Obama was seeking a black identity after being raised by his white grandparents.
###
From SAS: Thanks, Inbee. Very good point about Barack, as well. For the life of me, I couldn’t comprehend why Hannity couldn’t get what I was saying. But that’s the way it goes.
Steven A!…….Cool bro. I always wondered where you took off to. I used to love your show on ESPN radio in NYC..then all of a sudden you were gone. Your boy B.T. is holding it down..but not the same. Anyway, I was delighted to see you on Hannity. You’ve got some dam good insight..fair…and balanced. No wonder i liked your ol’ radio show…good insight and entertaining. Keep it up.
peace,
jpv

From SAS: Thanks, my man. Much appreciated.
SA: Great post and my thoughts.
1. I think AI going to to Philly is what he truly needed during this phase in his career. He’s going home and we all know there is no place like home. I know he will excel being back in Philly.
2. I may be way off, and please tell me, but when a celebrity (Tiger) pushes products to consumers (us) to purchase these products because the celebrity endorses them, doesn’t the celebrity open the door to his/her life and invites us into there life to some degree? When you push a product, the company believes in your image and what it can do to boost sales of that product. Many say leave Tiger alone, I say, not so fast, you’re in my living every night pushing the products you indorse, I say you open yourself up to people/consumers who want to know about you “trangressions”. Last, I don’t feel bad for Tiger, I feel for his wife. We make mistakes, but 15 potential women on the side it no mistake when you’re married with two kids. It’s beyond a mistake and I’m sure Tiger knewn that as well. I know Steve McNair know all too well.
Happy Holidays Steven A. Continued success in 2010.
Hey Stephen A,
What are you thoughts on the death of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry ? It seems that domestic violence is supposed to be a key issue as to how he died???
I thought he turned his life around and gotten things together…
Ya gurl
###
From SAS: From my understanding, he did. But truth is, when it comes to domestic issues, I’m very very reserved in my opinions because I don’t believe in getting all into someone’s bedroom. You simply never know what’s going on. I know of one player who was killed in the media because he hit his wife. What wasn’t told is that he did so after HE WALKED IN ON HER LITERALLY GETTING STROKED DOGGY STYLE by another dude. When you take those things into consideration, I don’t know if you can ever predict how you’d respond under such circumstances.
I find that people from the outside looking in on celebrities life always claim that there liars, cheaters, and back-stabbing. Now that we have some-one that speaks the truth, people get mad and offended; they wanna use bad language and talk about the person who is telling the truth. The truth will always come to light, don’t get mad because it makes you or your sports idol look bad. It is what it is.
Keep doing what u do Stephen A.
###
From SAS: Thanks, Jerome. Appreciate the support.
Stephen A, are u surprised that Kwame Brown is still playing in the NBA?
###
From SAS: SHOCKED!!!
Stephen, YOUR THE BEST. Happy holidays and God bless.
Please go back to ESPN!
###
From SAS: Thank you. God Bless.
I agree with you Mr. Stephen A. Smith, regarding Tiger Woods. I believe that a man knows when he is not quite ready to settle down, both men and women know when they still have some play in them. So my question is, why get married? As a woman I respect a man who is honest about where he stands when it comes to committment. People, don’t get in a committed relationship when you know your not ready, it makes life easier for everyone involved.
###
From SAS: Agreed.
How did you break the story he retired? When he didn’t!!!!! You are REALLY DUMB NIGGER!!!! I Hope AI punches you in the face. He told me he is going to. You act and talk like WOMAN!!!! YOU FAGGOT!
Hey FAGGOT!!!! You and that CockSmoker Steve Harvey and Bitch Ass Boomerang deserve each other 3 closet FAGGOTS!!!!! And I’ll say it to all of your FAGGOT faces!!! YOU BITCH!!! Get off peoples Dicks!!!! Jocky Balboa!!! You are a BITCH and A PUSSY!!!!!! Nobody is going to listen to your sorry ASS!!! You’ll get fired just like at ESPN!!!!

From SAS: Always appreciate the kind, thoughtful, supportive words, my man. Keep’em coming
Its halftime of a basketball game I am watching on espn360, and they have this piece on the lack of white american basketball players in the NBA. The story came off as if white american players were unfairly not making NBA teams. They even changed the words of one african american executive about why the zone was put in, turning it into something racial, and made this statement to another african american executive in the NBA front office, who denied those claims rightfully. Now I am shaking my head like are they serious. Is this the same network who feels anytime they have a black face on a show, during prime time hours, they usually have to have a white companion? Is this the same network with the radio station in NYC with no black voices during prime hours, that refuses to have more than 1 black person on a show, unlike their all white shows, who talk mostly about black athletes? I just kept shaking my head like, where is the piece about why no american white male athlete or coach has been shown to be married to a black woman but they have done pieces on black athletes married to white women or highlighted that fact. I dont expect Stephen A to comment on this but maybe other viewers on this website would like to comment on this piece, which comes on during most half times of basketball games on espn360.
Heads up Stephen A, you are already be hated on before your new show on foxsports radio has even aired. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/richard_deitsch/12/21/gammons.media1/index.html?eref=sihp
Maybe this time around you should add a black co host or hosts, kind of like openlines on KISS FM.
###
From SAS: Appreciate the heads up, C.J. I’m fully aware of the naysayers, along with their lies about my show on 1050. No one wants to pay attention to the numerous offers I received to stay on ESPN Radio…that I wanted to step away in 2008 for a little while. But that’s fine. I’ll be ready for whatever. It’s cool. Thanks for the support.
YOU SUCK SMITH. GET OFF THE AIR.
I can’t believe FOX sports dumped the best for the worst. What a boom for Mike and Mike’s ratings this will be.
###
From SAS: We will see, my man. We will see.
Stephen A, few questions: 1) Do you think T-Mac will get traded to the Knicks for lil Nate Robinson? 2) Do you think Stephon Marbury will play basketball again?
###
From SAS: T-Mac has already looked into the Knicks, but they want Houston to take Eddy Curry and that ain’t happening. As for Stephon Marbury, he needs prayer. And his skills have eroded so drastically, that combined with his bizarre behavior this past offseason — I believe — has sealed his fate. But who knows.
KEEP TELLING IT LIKE IT IS LIKE ARRON NEVILLE.YOU’RE AN INSPIRATIONAL TALKER.
Great as usual Stephen A. found your website on a whim but i’m gonna stay here, HOLLA!!!
Stephen A, Shaq is having a career-low year. Do you think this is his last season in the NBA?
###
From SAS: Nope. Shaq wants to play 2-to-3 more years before hanging it up.
Do you think that Charles Woodson should be mentioned for MVP? He is having a monster year, (considering the rules of the NFL). How does he compare to the other #21 “primetime”. By the way, on which station can your new radio show be heard in the metro Atlanta Area.
This is a superb internet site and I wished to post a little note to inform you, wonderful work!
