Carmelo Anthony To New York! (via ESPN.com)

Hallelujah!

Carmelo Anthony is coming to New York. The New York Knicks have a bona fide superstar tandem. Someone who can guarantee 20 to 25 points per night, who’s a headache for opponents, the ultimate blessing for Amare Stoudemire — and the quintessential missing piece of the Knicks’ puzzle.

The people who run this franchise would have looked like buffoons for perpetuity had they not pulled the trigger and gotten Melo to Gotham City. This is what New York needed. This is what this city wanted. This is who the Knicks absolutely had to have if they were going to transform themselves from abysmal to mediocre to respectable and beyond.

    Hey Smith,
Another Nugget going away. Are you going to interview him like you did with Iverson? Maybe before he plays his first game as a Knick or when they go to the playoffs? Great connections and I love the passion. I listen to you when I get the chance and you represent New York as a big boy league coming back. Thank you!

Steven my main man Smith… Your So Damn Right!
It’s about time the KNICKS made this city the Mecca
of Basketball look good once again! I only saw Destruction
for the Knicks without another Super Star! A’mare couldn’t keep scoring like that night after night without breaking down! Now they can have some balance & with our sights on a point guard & big man with-in the next season or 2 We Are On Our Way! Glad you don’t have to put people on blast for not doing the right thing… However! Dolans tights to Thomas may still hurt us down the road! What’s your thoughts on where the Knicks should go from here?

    stephen A –

we didnt NEED to give up half the team for melo. it’s not an argument that the talent given up for him is better than melo – that’s obviously not the case. but if we had a competent front office without the owner meddling – we couldve given up WAY less! we should still have gallo, mozgov, and at least the 2nd round picks!!! we got a great player, but got HOSED doing it!!

The Knicks will need to play defense now that their run and gun style ha been disabled. Too much traded away for 20 ppg 6 rpg. Bring Van Gundy in even if for defensive consultant only and only then will this move will take effect.

Even though it’s been 30 years since we have won the gift of love, I believe that it is New York karma. We finally have another Dynamic Duo like, the The Pearl and Clyde. Please try not to be so critical of our weak organization. This is our time to shine!….Let’s communicate!

Didn’t realize the hate for our city was so high within Sports Anylist. Sayin we traded four starters when we only traded three. Also, making reference to Carmelo only making it out of the first round of the playoffs once in the West. Where in the West during Carmelo’s time in the NBA, Nash was a MVP, Dirk, and Koby.I mean, think about it!

We must get it together about the 80’s era being the best in NBA history. If that’s the case, we need to stop comparing the NBA to the NFL. Because: We’ve only had one era of parity in the NBA and that was in the 70’s my brotha. “Seven different winners”. The ABA merger or “the emerge of the brotha in the NBA”.-”Kareem Abdul-Jabar”!!!! The person who changed the game even more than Russ and Will.

NBA knowledge is misinterpreted as far as history goes. You give me from 1965 to 1975 and you can’t pick any of my guys from that era, I have more top 50 players. Plus, Russell, Wilt, Kareem, and Walton outclass any other four big men you can assemble from the 80’s til now.

    Let’s debate!!!
